If you have just purchased SmartMan for the fist time, you should have received an email with an activation. If you are doing the installation this could have gone to someone else in your organization.

YOU ALREADY HAVE THE KEY CODE

If you already have your key code and instructions, download the latest software, install it, and get started.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A KEY CODE

• Name of Contact Person
• Email of Contact Person
• Telephone of contact person

Also if you have access to the Launchpad Multimedia Invoice, please include the following in your email:

• Invoicer (Top left)
• Customer number (Top Right)

This information will allow us to fully activate the account and send you the required Key Code right away.

MAINTAINING SMARTMAN

Your Ambu SmartMan System is an accurate scientific instrument. The manikin has many moving parts and the digital interface require that they be treated with care. Through abuse it is possible to break these parts.

Also, the software is constantly being upgraded. It will be modified as required as changes are made to the AHA guidelines.

In order to maintain the complete system at the highest level working order we suggest that you do the following:

• Software: Keep it up to date. We suggest that you click on the following link, or the link in the product about every 3 months. UPDATE SOFTWARE NOW.
  
  
• Manikin: Maintain it in top condition. When in use, place the back into its holder. Keep the skin free from dirt.
  
  
• TIK (Technical Integration Kit): This is an electronic component and is connected to the computer and the manikin via cables. When in use, place it out of the way so that it does not get kicked or walked on. Check to see that the cables fit into their connections.
  
  
• Cables: There is a 6 pin cable that goes into the popup on the manikin. This must be firmly connected. Be careful not to force this in. Do NOT bent the prongs. There is a dimple in the connector and this must line up with the correct spot on the popup.
  
  
• Calibration: This procedure assures that the moving parts in the manikin are producing signals correctly and accurately. Calibrating also act to fine tune the system so you receive the most accurate reading possible.

Your SmartMan system is composed of many moving parts. As any device, it will require service from time to time to maintain it working properly.
